Tension rises in INC controversy as police confirms that no 'hostage-taking' took place in Manalo residence.

TANDANG SORA, QUEZON CITY-- Just days before their 101st anniversary on July 27, Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) bombarded the news after former executives Felix Nathaniel 'Angel' Manalo and Cristina 'Tenny' Villanueva Manalo claimed that they were being held hostage but just today, police confirmed that the 'hostage-taking' threat was a false alarm.

After visiting the Manalo kin's compound in Tandang Sora, Quezon City and talking to Tenny for one hour, the authorities have arrived to the conclusion that nobody was being held hostage in the Manalo residence.

Although Tenny and Angel refused entrance in the house, the police investigated outside just enough to see that there were no signs of violence and forced entrance. Minutes after, INC spokesman Edwil Zabala talked to the authorities and media:

"There is no hostage. There is no abduction. No one is being held against their will." Zabala stated.

Tenny and Angel is the mother and brother of the departed church's executive minister Eduardo Manalo. Recently, they have been expelled from INC along with several other executives for accusing INC leaders as corrupt.

Following their expulsion, a video of Tenny and Angel were posted on Youtube last Wednesday appealing for the people to help them. The Manalos said their lives were in 'danger' and that they were held as hostage in their own residence along with other head ministries of INC.

In response to their appeal for help, people flocked outside their compound in Tandang Sora, Quezon City. On Thursday morning, a sign was posted in their home that says: "Tulong. Hostage kami" which alarmed people even more.

On the other hand, another update has been made after INC ministries allegedly shunned down the Manalo kin to stop exposing the feud outside the walls of INC members including the controversies surrounding the funds in constructing Philippine Arena.
