WATCH: Mexican mayor marries a crocodile


The video shows the highlight of the ceremony where a reptile and a human married each other.

San Pedro Huamelula, Mexico - Mayor Joel Vazquez Rojas exchanged the sweetest vow to a crocodile.

The wife, 3-year old crocodile Maria Isabel and the groom walked around the town before tying the knot. The reptile was also baptized prior to the wedding.

She was wearing a white gown and with a very large piece of duct tape around her snout. The bride changed her wedding dress to colorful flowers wrapped around her for the after-dance party.

The mayor cheerfully danced with his wife lying in his arms, He was overjoyed after the wedding ceremony. It was indeed a wonderful celebration in town.

According to the tradition, the animal bride will bring plenty of seafood for fisherman to catch. This tradition happens once a year. Local residents said that the tradition is very important for them because it was the greatest treasure that their ancestors left them.

The ceremony and reception, which also featured fireworks to mark the momentous occasion, was all paid for by the town council.
