A story about an addicted Clash of Clan player.

If I could only have a gadget that would turn back time, I would buy it even it costs too much.

My name is Paolo, a son of an OFW. My father is a construction worker so my mother was forced to work in Kuwait as a domestic helper. My mom loves us so much so she sacrificed for our needs. She gives everything to us until there's nothing left for her.

"Mom, thanks for the money you sent us. I finally bought an android phone. I can use the internet and chat with you on facebook. I promise I will study harder!" I told my mom. "Wow! I have such a sweet son. Thank you. I love you my son." "I love you too mom."

But everything was changed since I started playing Clash of Clans. A game that made me addicted to smartphone. At first, I just wanted to entertain myself because I feel bored. But as time goes by, I realized that I don't even sleep.

All I did was to upgrade and attack. I want to become the best player in our clan. I want to have the highest level. I become short-tempered when I don't win in a clan war.

I don't have much time for my girlfriend. I don't reply to her messages and I don't answer her calls because I don't want to be disturbed while playing C.O.C. She decided to break up with me.

I also didn't obey my father's instructions. My mom called me and said: "What is happening to you my son? What are you not going to school? It's not easy to earn money here. Please study hard! If I only knew that you'll become addicted, I wouldn't buy you a cellphone!"

I got angry and I disconnected the call. Since then, I ignore her calls and messages for a month. One night, I missed 8 calls from her. I still choose to ignore her because of my pride.

The next day, I received a call from her recruitment agency. My mom is dead because her employer hurt her. A shocking news that broke my heart. I received a text message from a friend. "Paolo, have you watched your mom's video?" I checked my facebook to find out what it is. I saw my mom crying for help. She has bruises on her face. I felt heart-broken while watching the video. I also saw my mom's message on facebook. "My son, please answer my calls. I want to talk to you. Please help me seek help. My employer will kill me. Share this video so they could watch this.

After reading, I almost went crazy. I didn't do anything to help my mom. I chose to ignore her and play C.O.C. first. My mom is gone. I hate myself. It was my fault. It hurts so because I couldn't turn back time. I also lost my girlfriend. I lost my one and only mom. I'm sorry mom. Please forgive me. I love you very much. I won't forget you.
