Surgeon found a groundbreaking way to connect a toddler's head back to his body with the use of 'grafting technology'.

Last September, 16-month old Jackson Taylor had been involved in a car crash with his mother and sister. The impact of the 110kph approaching vehicle resulted the head of the toddler to be separated from his body.

However, his head was not completely detached from his body. In medical terms, they call it an 'internal decapitation'. It happens when the spinal cord is accidentally cut off from the head, causing difficulty in bodily movements. Fortunately, Taylor lived through the accident.

Had it been the earlier centuries, poor Taylor would have an untimely death due to his rare medical condition. Even nowadays, not many condition like this are recorded and the medical community is still struggling to seek an effective cure. Yet today, it proved to be a groundbreaking incident for Science.

Taylor went through a six-hour surgery under spinal surgeon Geoff Askin in Brisbane, Australia. The surgeon found a brilliant way to 'connect' his head back to his body with the use of wire and grafting his own rib to his broken vertebrae.

The operation was successful and Taylor is expected to live his normal life again right after he recovers from the surgery. He must wear a brace for 8 weeks to support his back and to aid for a speedy recovery.
