Speaking from a Pinoy's perspective, our culture is teeming with traditional superstitions that have stuck with us through the years. Our elders taught us several weird practices to follow in order to save ourselves from misfortune, but how much do we really know about them?

To put it simply, none of these superstitions have been proven scientifically yet we still cling onto them. Among them is the folklore about seeing headless apparitions, and this photo we found online is shrouded with mystery.

The viral photo has spread like wildfire in the social media due to its disturbing content. The setting was in a crowded hallway of a school, but if you look closely you will spot a headless body of a female student walking.

It was even checked multiple times to assure the authenticity, but the photo was far too believable to be a product of Photoshop. As expected, it garnered mixed reactions from the netizens. Most of them were terrified while several remained skeptic.

Nonetheless, it will surely give you goosebumps. The headless girl quickly became a hot topic in Facebook and soon enough, comments about a similar superstition involving the photo resurfaced.

According to Pinoy superstitions, a headless apparition means certain death or misfortune to the person who was seen headless. A netizen shared his creepy story about this:

Naalala ko tuloy ang isa sa mga kwento ng lola ko; Sa isang pagtitipon, napansin daw niya na walang ulo ang isa sa kanyang mga kausap sa araw na iyon. Nabalitaan na lang daw niya na ang taong yun ay nagkasakit hanggang mamatay. Minsan naman, sa palengke daw, yung pinagbibilhan niya ng karne napansin din niyang walang ulo. Makalipas ang tatlong araw, nasagasaan yung tao at namatay.

Apparently, one can prevent the harm by exercising some of these tips. According to elders, slapping the headless person will do the trick. In other cases, netizens claim that burning or burying the person's clothing will save him from certain death.

Despite of all the rumors surrounding the photo, none of them have still been confirmed. Do you think the photo is authentic, or it was just simply a product of overactive imagination and good Photoshop skills? Be the judge.
