Davao already has a solution for 'laglag-bala' scam in airports

Find out how Davao City deals with the 'laglag-bala' scam in airport.

DAVAO CITY, Philippines-- While the local government of Manila is still seeking for a solution for the 'laglag-bala' scam in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Davao City has already formulated a plan to stop the controversial scam from terrorizing their airport.

Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte is known for deeply condemning the 'laglag-bala scam'. As a matter of fact, he already set out safety measures in Davao City International Airport to prevent similar incidents from happening inside his city.

According to Yves Buchorno Perdido's viral Facebook post, the airport is teeming with police officers and civilian assets. Aside from roaming the whole airport, they are also giving away flyers to inform people about the existing 'laglag-bala' scam.

This is what I found in Davao City International Airport. A lot of police officers are roaming around for the security of all the passengers. They are giving flyers/papers warning everyone for the tanim bala modus operandi.
After giving flyers, the officers themselves take the time and effort to warn the passengers to be extra careful with their baggage. Moreover, Perdido claimed that she also spotted two cameramen who takes video infront of the baggage scanner.

They even talk themselves to the passengers to always check the baggages and not let anyone touch it even the airport representatives. I thought it's the end or only outside, but when we are inside the airport I saw two cameramen taking videos in front of the scanners.

Meanwhile, people all over social media commended Duterte and the local government of Davao for their alert solution. Some even compared Davao's situation than that of NAIA's, which is still at lost for putting a stop on the said scam.

Perhaps Duterte's anger is what fueled him from seeking an immediate solution to the problem. It can be remembered that he imposed a warning to the people behind this:

I don't have the ambition to become the president, but if I am the president, I will let you swallow those bullets even if it means death.

Lately, the 'laglag-bala' scam has terrorized numerous passengers who were forced to bribe airport personnels just to prevent flight delay. What's more suspicious is that even though it has received negative exposure from the media, the scam hasn't stopped yet and the number of victims are still rising. What do you think of this issue?
