Avoid leaving your chargers plugged most specially at night. And avoid din yung dikit dikit na plug ng sa extension,  hangga't maaari wag na wag nyo kakatulugan mga chinacharge nyo. (Avoid leaving your chargers plugged most especially at night. And also avoid overloaded plugs in an extension, as long as possible never fall asleep while charging.)
Llaneta recalled the cause of their traumatic incident. According to her, it was past midnight and she was about to sleep when she noticed the overloaded plug extension with chargers from a tablet and her speaker.

Naisip ko na tanggalin na sana sa saksak yung tab kasi baka mag overheat. Pati na yung charger na wala naman chinacharge pero di ko alam bat di ko na sya natanggal. (I thought to remove the tablet from the plug because it may overheat, including the charger without a phone but then I didn't know why I did not remove it.)

Little did she know that it was a choice she'll regret later. Moments after ignoring the plug, a fire quickly ignited from the overheating plug. The fire spread quickl and fortunately, with a help of a friend, they extinguished it before it fully consume the room.

Ang daming questions sa utak ko una pano kung tulog na kami? Pano kung hindi namin napatay? (There are so many questions in my head. What if we are asleep? What if we didn't extinguish the fire?)

Luckily, nobody got hurt from the incident. However, her gadgets and the chargers were burnt.

Netizens were equally alarmed with Llaneta's experience. They also give their piece of advice to avoid incidents like these in the future such as turning off your phone's wifi or data connection while charging to avoid heating.

May this incident serves as a warning to others out there. Be careful on charging your phones, especially at night. Always keep an eye for overloaded plugs or sockets because it can rapidly overheat and be the source of a fire. As the old saying goes, it's better to be safe than sorry.
