Facebook's latest feature allows its user to see 360° videos

Check out Facebook's first ever 360° video that lets its users to have a 'virtual reality' experience.

Mark Zuckerberg, founder of popular social networking site Facebook, announced on Friday the ground-breaking feature of the site which finally allows its users to experience viewing 360° videos. Zuckerberg wrote on Facebook:

360 video is a completely new experience because you can move the camera around. This opens new ways of sharing experiences and makes you feel like you're part of what you're watching. It's a step towards even more immersive experiences."

This latest feature ehances the interaction experience of Facebook users. Along with his announcement, Zuckerberg also posts a video of a parade shot in North Korea as a test to let users see the efficiency of the feature.

People can now see the full 360 degree view in videos using this feature just by holding up their phones and moving it in any direction they want. This way, the video will automatically follow and show the angle. You can also touch the screen and drag it to any direction to view the 360° shot.

Facebook first introduced the idea of this feature last September, when it was only allowed for PC and smartphones. The videos were shot using a special camera in order to cover the full 360° shot of the scene.

Along with this latest feature launch, GoPro has already released its third 360° video which shows professional surfers Anthony Walsh and Matahi drollet surfing the waves in the coast of Tahiti. The video is a part of the series created by GoPro and shared exclusively on Facebook.

People expressed their excitement over Zuckerberg's announcement, saying that the feature creates a 'virtual reality' type of experience and lets them get new perspectives. Facebook users wrote:

360 video is quite important to really feel like your apart of the video. Looking forward to utilizing this new video feature.

Nice to see Facebook using latest technological aspects. The future of content sharing might change from plain messaging to immersive technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality.
