Study reveals people who have more sex lives longer

A 10-year study reveals that people who engage in more sex has longer life expectancy than those who don't.

Countless research have supported the claim that having sex regularly improves not only sexual satisfaction but also certain aspects in an individual's life. A recent study at Queens University in Belfast revealed that sex does not only affect small areas in your health, but could also double your life expectancy.

The 10-year research earned itself a publication in the British Medical Journal. It involves 1,000 middle-aged men--all of similar age and health condition--who were carefully observed over the course of ten years. The study showed that men who have frequent sex and achieve orgasm regularly have lived twice as long as those who did not have sex often.

But aside from adding years to your life, what are some of the subtle benefits of having sex regularly?

The same British study also provide evidence that having intercourse twice a week or more decreases the chance of heart attack and other fatal coronary diseases. People who had sex less have a higher rate of heart attack than those individuals who have frequent intercourse.

In addition to this, a research published in the journal Biological Psychology shows that aside from helping combat coronary problems, frequent sex is also proven to lower blood pressure. People who were sexually active had less blood pressure spikes even when put under stress. For women, having regular sex can also lower your chances of breast cancer and have fewer and less intense menopause symptoms.
Sex can also be a form of exercise. When performing sex, every muscle in an individual's body is working especially the buttocks, pelvis, stomach and arms. This makes it a great form of exercise with your partner if you want to shed some weight. A 5-minute sexual intercourse can burn 20 calories in your body, whereas a 30-minute session can burn up to 200 calories.

Your immunity system benefits from sex, too. You are helping your immune system ward off colds and coughs by having regular orgasms. Sex pumps up the blood with an antibody known as immunoglobulin A which is known to support the immune system, helps in tissue repair and improves bone growth.

Sex can also be a great way to lessen your pain. When you have sex, your body produces endorphins, which is the natural pain-killing hormones of your body. As a matter of fact, a recent article published in described sex as 'better headache cure rather than painkillers'.

However, all of these benefits will be even more worth it when you practice safe sex. Nothing beats a stress-free and worry-free sex with your partner.

Who would've thought that sex could be this beneficial? If you find this article helpful, share it with others and don't hesitate to comment your opinion below.
