This woman got arrested for abandoning her newborn child.

According to an article published by KTLA 5, the woman was bloody when she left the toilet, a customer noticed and called one of the employees. They found an umbilical cord leading into the toilet. Then, the employees called 911. The baby was rushed to the Queen of the Valley Hospital and got admitted in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
The newborn, a full term baby boy was found crying, upright and half-submerged in the toilet water, said West Covina Police Department Cpl. Rudy Lopez, who told the members of the media about the incident. He also said that the newborn’s placenta was found in the trash can.
The police used to track Trinidad down by the trail of blood. She was found in an alleyway behind a nearby Pep Boy store and was arrested by the police, according to an article published by CBS Los Angeles. The mother was found and as a precaution, she was also brought to the Queen of the Valley Hospital.
Filipinos in the area claim that they are familiar with the woman. They disclosed that Trinidad has been sleeping, using the restrooms in the restaurants and begging in the area.
ABS-CBN News quoted a certain Lydia Olaivar said that the woman was seen yesterday in front of the restaurant, probably in labor.
Trinidad faces charges of attempted murder and child abandonment and bail will be set at $2 million. She has a criminal history revealed by police records and is now wanted on a $30,000 warrant for drug charges.
To bring more awareness to the Safe Surrender Baby Law, the USA Today released an article disclosing that a booking photo and surveillance video of the woman are being issued. Such a law allows mothers to turn their new born babies over to fire stations or hospitals.
