Netizens hit Rappler for being 'biased' after Roxas wins their own debate scorecard

Netizens were hot against Rappler’s after they published their analysis for the first Presidential Debate supervised by COMELEC in Maindanao.

This, February 21, Rappler media published on-the-spot results of the Presidential debate held in Cagayan de Oro based on the judgment of their editors.

Based on Rappler, they gave the first round of debate to Liberal Party presidential candidate Mar Roxas. Their criteria is truthfulness, overall impact and knowledge.

Their report said, “Rappler editors called this round for Roxas, who was concise and straightforward. The usually playing-safe and long-winded Roxas immediately went on the offensive when he made his opening statement and during the 1st round, singled out his rivals for their perceived weaknesses. He called out Poe for being inexperienced, telling her that the presidency is not an OJT.”

After the debate, Rappler also published the scorecard by Movement for Good Governance (MGG). Roxas resoundingly wins their scorecard which was based on criterion effective, ethical and empowering.

Gabriela Representative Luz C Ilagan commented , “Roxas gets 5 for competence, track record and decisiveness?! Hello? Are you sure it's not for incompetence, train tracks ( LRT, MRT) record, and indecisiveness? Kaloka!”

Pinoy Dream Academy Alumna Eman Abatayo blasted the online site saying, “Rappler bias ka sobra...unfollow/unlike NATO!”

Even popular folk singer Bayang Barrios could not believe, “Jusko? Roxas??? Effective???? 5? Jusmiyo!!!”

Rappler’s CEO is Maria Ressa while Winnie Monsod is the founder of MGG.

Ressa and Monsod were both tagged as “yellow media” or those who have been protecting the administration through their reports.
