Family keeps tikbalang as a pet

They said they are friends with the tikbalang and it serves as their guardian.

The Northern Philippines is known in the folklore of tikbalang which is a mythical creature composed of head and feet of a horse and body of a human. It is said that they play with people's sense of direction, causing them to lose their way and hallucinations.

Mang Rogelio, a resident of a province in the North, claimed that his father, Lolo Mariano, encountered a tikbalang before and befriended it. He said that the creature helps them in times of need like the lack of money.

A granddaughter of Lolo Mariano shared that the tikbalang is still around because sometimes she smells bad odor around the house especially on the second floor.

"Kahit dyan sa bahay namin dyan, ramdam ko siya. Ramdam ko po talaga na may kasama kami, lalo na pag umakyat ako sa bahay kasi alam ko pag andyan siya sa tabi, yung mabaho," she claimed.

The family of Mang Rogelio doesn't mind keeping the tikbalang as they believe that it will not hurt them.
